Archie Self and Macy Gibbons lead the Junior Power League with 100 per cent records after three weeks, as both players won again in Bristol to keep up their flying starts to the new season.

Self beat Lex Paeshuyse to stay top of the boys’ table, while Gibbons beat Lucy Shepherd to continue leading the girls’ table after three rounds of matches.

The JPL resumes on May 15, with the Advanced Tour and Girls Series taking place in Bristol this weekend.

BOYS’ EVENT

Archie Self beat Lex Paeshuyse 5-3 as he made it three wins from three to start the JPL season.

The 16-year-old Englishman has already beaten Lewis Cook and Tergel Khurelkhuu – and exuded confidence as he maintained his winning run against the former JDC world champion.

Self had to fight back from 3-1 down to win, with Paeshuyse winning his legs in 16, 15 and 15 darts to get off to a flying start.

The Belgian took out 116 to break for a 2-0 lead, and although Self broke back instantly, Paeshuyse responded with a 124 checkout to go 3-1 up. But Self broke back – and then crucially held to make it 3-3.

When he took out 108 to break, he was in charge of the contest and held throw in 16 darts to make it three from three.

Second in the table is world champion Mitchell Lawrie, who beat Christian Ennis 5-1 with a 93.81 average to extend his unbeaten start.

Lawrie took out 110 to break in the second leg, then produced a 13-darter with two 180s to go 3-0 in front. Ennis cleared 87 to hold throw, before Lawrie held and then broke for his first win of the 2026 JPL after two draws.

His compatriot Owen Bryceland is also unbeaten – and also claimed his first win – with a 5-1 victory over Kaya Baysal.

Baysal took out 86 to break in the opener but Bryceland reeled off five in a row to get the win, including two 16-dart legs, as he kept Baysal at arm’s length for much of the contest.

Tergel is in fourth place after a 5-1 win over Lewis Cook, ultimately sealing a scrapy contest on double 1, while Jack Johnson got his campaign up and running with a 5-2 win against defending champion Jack Nankervis in the opening match. The highlight was a 13-dart leg for Johnson in the second leg, before sealing the by taking out 80.

GIRLS’ EVENT

Macy Gibbons extended her winning start to the JPL as she beat Lucy Shepherd 4-0 to make it three wins from three to start the new season.

The in-form 16-year-old set the tone by breaking Shepherd’s throw in the opening leg, hitting two tons and a 97 before taking out 46, and then holding to double her lead.

She broke in 18 darts for a 3-0 lead and wrapped up the win on her own throw to stay top of the table.

She is being closely pursued by Lola Wheeler, who remains unbeaten after three matches, following her 4-1 win over Kirsten Casley.

Casley won the opening leg, holding throw by taking out 60, before Wheeler two successive double 7 checkouts to lead.

A hold in the fourth leg put her within one leg of victory, and she obliged by hitting 133 on her way to a break of throw to win the match.

The 2025 champion Rebecca Allen claimed her first win of the 2026 JPL season with a 4-1 victory over Yazmine Ruck-Havard.

Allen hit 177 to leave 36, which she then checked out, in the opening leg, before a 17-dart break in the second leg put her in command.

Ruck-Havard broke back in the next leg, taking out 54, but Allen broke again for 3-1 and then clinched the win in the next leg to move up to fourth in the table after an uncharacteristically slow start.

RESULTS

Lola Wheeler (Eng) 4-1 Kirsten Casley (Wal)

Rebecca Allen (Eng) 4-1 Yazmine Ruck-Havard (Wal)

Macy Gibbons (Eng) 4-0 Lucy Shepherd (Eng)
