CALLUM Mitchell has built a strong lead at the top of the East Midlands table, racing to 130 points already – with an overall average north of 70.

He was runner-up in the latest event at Rushden, losing 3-1 in the final to Addison Hefferon, who averaged 72.53 and hit a 121 checkout.

In second place is Charlie Miller, who kept up his good form with a 3-1 win over Seth Aldous in the latest final in Norwich, having also picked up the honours the previous week.

Aldous himself is in third place, with Finlay Clayton – the most recent winner at Sutton Bridge – back in fourth. Clayton beat Declan Shaw 3-1 in the final, sealing his triumph with a two-dart 96 checkout.

Hefferon is in fifth place, losing in the Kempston final as well as winning the Rushden event. In Kempston, he was denied by an excellent performance from Jack Divall, who averaged 80.52 in the final, hitting two 180s and an 85 checkout.

Charlie Greensmith also tasted victory, beating Bobby Cookson 3-0 in the Mansfield final to solidify his position in sixth place. The win was Greensmith’s third successive event win in Mansfield and saw him throw a 75.15 average in the final.

In Coalville, Declan Cragg was the winner, beating Kyle Gilding 3-1 in the final, while in Soham Charlie Day tasted victory as he beat Douglas Callaghan-Till 3-1 for his first win of the series.

In the West Midlands, the pace at the top of the rankings is being set by Cody Exall, who was the latest winner at Tipton Sports Academy. He has raced into a 41-point lead having beaten Charlie Meeson 3-1 in the final.

There was double delight for Sonny Jones, who won in both Lichfield and Rugeley – beating Eric Hawkins 3-0 in the final both times.

Jones triumphed in Lichfield on Saturday, sealing the win with an 80 checkout, before following up a quite unusual repeat in Rugeley the next day.

George Edwards won in Halesowen to complete back-to-back event wins there, winning 3-0 against Jake Shipley in the final.
