In a dramatic final day at the PDC's Q School in Wigan , it turns out that the JDC Chairman's roll of the dice has paid off.
On the final day of competition at the Robin Park tennis centre in Wigan, the results of the final days play did not effect the chances of the JDC Chairman Steve Brown securing a PDC professional tour card.
It turned out that his stunning performances on Day 1 and 2 accrued enough points to provail and return to the professional circuit. Brown, who has sacrificed a huge amount of time and effort in creating the JDC and now heads up the corporation as Chairman had a meeting he could not turn down. At the very moment he has been awarded the tour card he is likely to be 30,000 ft in the air on his way to Shanghai to meet dignitories and sports officials who look to work with the JDC in the future.
Brown commented on Saturday afternoon to the PDC's reporter Dan Dawson, announcing he wouldn't be competing on the last day of Q school as he had pre arranged JDC business in China.
" I have to go, a lot of work has gone into this meeting and I can't let anyone down. Its been arranged now and it effects a lot of people. I hope i've done enough and will have to roll the dice on this one"
Leaving the arena with a piece of paper in his pocket with the names of players that might of pushed him out of contention, he need not of worried.
