Academies

Great news ahead of 2021 as the world leaders in darts manufacturing support local grass roots junior acadmies.

Friday evening will see yet another rising star of the future gracing the Ally Pally stage.

Earlier in the competition JDC World Champion Keane Barry from Ireland made his second appearance in PDC World Darts Championships following last years JDC World title victory. Brooks however has had a magical end to 2020 with his appearance in the World Darts Championships by virtue of his dramatic World Youth title win last month against Joe Davis in Coventry.

In only the second world youth final to go the distance it was the 20 year old from lancashire who scooped £10,000 and a spot in the worlds this friday.

In such a short career Brooks has inspired so many and not just other young players.

Director of the Blackburn Youth Darts Academy Keith Brunt commented,

Bradley was the reason I formed Blackburn Youth Darts Academy. His attitude, determination and passion for the game inspired me to create something for other young players in the area. Bradley has always supported the work we do at the academy. He is a fantastic lad and all of us at the academy are so happy for him becoming PDC World Youth Champion. He is a great role model for all the young players to follow and his achievements are a perfect example of where players can progress, especially now with so many opportunities the JDC system provides. We all wish Bradley the very best for the future in is career and I am sure it won't be is last televised PDC title he claims"

Steve Brown JDC Chairman also commented,

"It’s been an absolute pleasure watching Bradley blossom since winning the inaugural JDC European championship in 2017.

Since then he has gone on to win two tour cards back to back and claim the title of the PDC world youth champion.

On a personal level it’s been a pleasure to be able to play alongside one of the former JDC academy players on the pro tour and of course next year Keane Barry will join us at the very top table.

Bradley’s personal accomplishments can only help solidify the future pathway for all the young stars that attend JDC academies all over the world".

Bradley will take on Dirk van Duijvenbode in the first match on Friday evening live on Sky Sports.

The JDC Virtual World Darts Championship will now be rescheduled for the week of the 7th - 13th of June 2021.

In a week that all eyes on the darts world will focus on Alexandra Palace, PDC CEO Matthew Porter takes time out to assure the JDC World Final will continue to be played at the palace in 2021.

As the end of an unprecedented year comes ever nearer, there is some good cheer for JDC members this December.

The JDC will be making the most of its Christmas celebrations with its members and end the year on a high. Offers and giveaways for JDC members will continue throughout December with a huge announcement at the end of the month.

With the support of the JDC's partners and sponsors the hope is that December will end the year of 2020 on a high note for the young members.
