MOSSMAN MAKES IT SIX FROM SIX TO LEAD IN THE SOUTH WEST
Series 6 of the JDC Volt is well underway, with events taking place across the UK and Ireland.
This week we take a look at the latest goings-on in South West, North West, North East, South East and the East Midlands of England.
SOUTH WEST
Charlie Mossman is one of the stories of Series 6 so far, having won all six events in which he has competed in Minehead.
Mossman continued his fine run of form earlier this week, beating Kyle Chivers 3-1 in the final, having seen off Luke Bennett in the previous weeks final. Mossman has now won 36 matches this season, losing only once.
Tai Anderson is in hot pursuit, though, having won back-to-back events in Highbridge. He beat Cooper Cornish 3-2 in this weeks final to stay within four points of Mossman.
Harry Lovatel is third after winning in Kentisbeare, where he defeated Ellie Harwood 3-1 in the final. He clinched the win with a 74 checkout against the darts.
NORTH WEST
In North West England, Tommy Cowburn has a three-point lead over Dillon Gardiner-Reid, Caiden Driscoll and Ryan Morris in a competitive race.
Cowburn has been picking up the points over the last week and a bit, winning in Burnley, then reaching a semi-final in Nelson, and getting to a quarter-final in Burnley earlier this week.
The chase in the North West is so tight that DJ Brotherton, this weeks winner in Burnley, is in tenth place despite being only three points off third and six off the lead.
Gardiner-Reid has had a productive week, reaching a semi-final in Preston and quarter-final in Nelson on successive evenings, while Driscoll backed up last weeks Warrington semi-final appearance with a quarter this week.
Morris, a runner-up in the competitive Warrington event last week, was a semi-finalist this time as Jack Gallop who is 12th overall took the title.
The regional qualification picture is likely to ebb and flow over the coming weeks, with only five points separating Jaxon Smith in 32nd and Riley Whitehead in 60th.
NORTH EAST
In North East England, Harrison Meggitt leads the way after a productive few days in Grimsby and Hull.
After reaching a semi-final in Grimsby, he was runner-up in Hull at the weekend, before taking the title in the same city on Monday evening.
Meggitt beat Thomas Brewer 3-1 in the final with a 70.59 average, taking the win with a 74 checkout.
George Buckley is third in the rankings after he beat Meggitt 3-0 in Sundays final in Hull, while Jack Taylor having finished runner-up in Harrogate in his last outing over a week ago.
Ben Pilgrim is fourth having won in Harrogate on Monday, beating Bobby Haste 3-0 in the final with a 73.92 average.
SOUTH EAST
In South East England, Cooper Harvey and Freddie Greenwood are setting the pace, with Greenwood winning in Gillingham at the weekend and Harvey taking the honours in Maidstone on Tuesday.
Greenwood beat Harvey 3-2 in the final in Gillingham, with the top two producing a fittingly close match. Harvey led 2-0 before Greenwood turned the match around, clinching the win with a 98 checkout.
But Harvey bounced back in Maidstone, beating Ted Acott 3-1 in the final having lost the opening leg.
Freddie Rowlands is in third place having had a good couple of events in Gosport. He backed up his win last Tuesday, when he beat Charlie Gaze 3-2 in the final, by reaching this weeks semi-final, which he lost to Riley Pinhorne. Pinhorne was then beaten 3-2 in the final by Jenson Macey, who averaged 78.87.
EAST MIDLANDS
Zach Langley has built a commanding lead in East Midlands after reaching three finals and a quarter-final in little over a week.
Langley was unable to get over the line and win any of the finals, but his consistency has seen him take top spot.
He was beaten 3-2 in the Bletchley final this week by Oscar Rumsey, who took out a 148 checkout and now sits in seventh place.
Charlie Miller, fresh from securing an Advanced Tour card for 2027, is in second place after winning in Norwich on Wednesday. He beat Noah Spanton 3-1 in the final with a 75.97 average.
He is level on points with Logan Smith, who triumphed in Sandy, beating Oliver Vine 3-1 after losing the opening leg.
