Junior VOLT’s Raise the Bar for 2026/27 Season with Over £100,000 in Prize Money
Junior VOLT’s are set to raise the bar once again for junior darts with the 2026/27 season bringing a series of exciting developments, including increased opportunities for players, enhanced regional support, professional production and a prize fund of more than £100,000.
Building on the existing VOLT format, the 2026/27 season will continue to give junior players a clear pathway from their local venue to a major national stage, while introducing a number of significant enhancements to the competition.
The 2026/27 VOLT format will feature eight weeks of weekly competition across 10 regions, giving junior players the chance to earn ranking points, win prize money and qualify for the next stage of the competition. One of the key changes for the new season will see the number of players progressing to each Regional Final increase from 32 to 64, giving twice as many players the opportunity to compete on the regional stage.
The season will also see the introduction of dedicated Regional Directors, providing players and venues with greater local support and a direct point of contact, helping to deliver faster communication and response throughout the competition. At the end of the eight-week series, the Top 64 players from each region will qualify for their respective Regional Final. The winner of each Regional Final will then progress to an End of Series Final, where the 10 regional winners compete for the series title.
The 2026/27 season will also feature six fully professional-produced finals, giving junior players the opportunity to experience the atmosphere and presentation of a major darts event as they progress through the VOLT pathway.
The ultimate prize is a place in the ‘Final Boss’, a year-end Grand Final featuring five qualifying players and a £10,000 prize fund. Five players will qualify for the Final Boss throughout the year, with one winner coming from each End of Series Final. Once a player qualifies, they cannot qualify again, ensuring the opportunity continues to open up for other competitors throughout the season.
The Final Boss will provide a major production event and a fitting climax to a season designed to give junior players more opportunities to compete, develop and experience the excitement of professional-style darts.
A pathway from local venues to the national stage
Junior VOLT’s continue to be built around a simple progression:
Play Weekly → Reach the Regional Final → Win Your Region → Win the Series → Qualify for the Final Boss → Become the Final Boss!
Players compete at their local VOLT venue, earning points throughout the eight-week series. The Top 16 players are paid out for the series, while the Top 64 now progress to the Regional Finals, increasing the number of players able to take the next step in the competition.
Free for venues to join
A key part of the Junior VOLT vision remains making the competition accessible to venues and players. Venues can sign up to VOLT for free, with no membership fees for the 2026/27 season. The programme is designed to begin at the local level, allowing participating venues to become part of a wider national junior darts structure.
With 10 regions, weekly competition, expanded Regional Finals, six fully professional-produced finals, dedicated regional support and significant prize-fund increases, Junior VOLT’s 2026/27 season aims to create an even more exciting and sustainable competition structure for young darts players.
