JDE LAUNCHES ON THE WINTER GARDENS STAGE
The Junior Darts Corporation is launching a new educational arm to the corporation to
engage educational facilities and providers to the sport of darts. Under the direction of the
JDC’s Education and Community lead Gary Horsley and his team, JDE will empower young
people to be introduced to the sport through education.
A pioneering approach to darts within education settings, up skilling educators, coaches,
teachers and volunteers with essential resources to bring darts into the classroom and
beyond. Junior Darts Education is committed to engaging with all areas of the community
collaborating with schools, colleges, academies, sport providers and sports foundations to
provide training, knowledge sharing and pathways to develop young people with learning,
focus, teamwork and maths skills all embedded in a structured program.
In addition, the projects available to educators aims to foster confidence, discipline and a
lifelong passion for the game with initiatives like the JDE’s Learning Centre Scheme and the
Classroom to Stage events backed by the Professional Darts Corporation.
The Launch of this initiative will be staged at the World Matchplay Darts event in Blackpool
from July 20th until July 24th.
During the PDC’s prestigious event in Blackpool the JDE team supported by world leading
manufacturer and JDE Sponsor Winmau, will be engaging in educational activities for all. A
comprehensive week of activity will include:
1. Community activities in local schools covering maths and darts.
2. Community and Foundation activity at the Winter Gardens with Manchester Utd,
Burnley, Everton and Fleetwood town football foundations.
3. Academy Accreditation Day at the Winter Gardens for new academies.
4. The JDC’s Academy coach day at the Winter Gardens for academy coaches.
5. Academy student activity from local JDC academies at the Winter Gardens.
6. JDE Leadership course for educators at the Winter Gardens.
7. Learning centre activity launch.
8. PDC’s Bullseye Maths delivery at the Winter Gardens.

personal growth. With JDE we are unlocking a world of possibilities for young people with
proper resources and pathways dedicated to the education world both in the classroom and
beyond”.
