JDC SIGNS UP AS WELSH SPORTS ASSOCIATION MEMBER

JDC signs up as Welsh Sports Association member!

This week the JDC attended the launch of the WSA's 2026–2030 Strategy and officially joined the WSA's safeguarding plus programme, reinforcing their commitment to making safeguarding an everyday priority across their events and academy network.

It was fantastic to join fellow partners from across the sports industry including football, cricket, boxing and table tennis to share ideas on growing participation and supporting young people in sport.

In particular the JDC have signed up to the WSA’s Safeguarding Plus scheme with designated qualified and hugely experienced people who support organisations like the JDC ensuring safeguarding lives day to day and isn’t just a policy statement. In addition, he WSA delivered a safeguarding workshop last month for the whole JDC team and its partners at Hangar61 the home of the JDC, which included Winmau, the DRA and the PDC.

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is the independent membership body representing and supporting more than 140 organizations across Wales and the UK sport and leisure sector. It provides advocacy, guidance, and a range of services to help its members strengthen their governance, sustainability, and overall effectiveness.

JDC Chief Executive Darren Barson said: "Being a member of a sports association really has huge benefits for the JDC’s and members and academy network as the WSA understand sport, running events, media, funding, legal obligations, community projects, safeguarding in sport, and all the things that come with being part of the sporting world.

"It’s great to share experiences and ideas with other sports, as we all share the same goals and passions for our sports. As an organisation in darts we will be sharing the learnings and ensuring our events and academies benefit from this relationship.
