JDC LAUNCH GIRLS SUPER 16

Further Opportunities for Girls to Shine in New Girls Super 16 Event

The Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) is delighted to announce the launch of the independent Girls Super 16 event. A brand-new event designed to provide even more opportunities for the next generation of young female darts players to showcase their talent.

Following the remarkable growth of the girls’ game over the past 12 months, the JDC continues its commitment to developing female talent by expanding its competitive pathway within the academy system.

With record participation in this year’s JDC Girls Series and the outstanding success of the 2025 Girls World Championship, the introduction of the Girls Super 16 represents another significant step forward for girls’ darts and the commitment the JDC has for the girls progression in the sport.

The new event will see the top 32 girls on the combined Season 4 and Season 5 Academy Order of Merit qualify for an exclusive Girls Super 16 Finals Weekend. Players will compete in their own dedicated tournament, creating another prestigious title within the JDC calendar.

Importantly, qualification comes at no additional cost. As players earn their place through their performances within the JDC Academy system, there are no extra entry fees to compete in the Girls Super 16. The event will feature a prize fund and a championship trophy, recognising the achievements of the country’s leading young female players.

The introduction of the Girls Super 16 reflects the JDC’s ongoing investment in the future of the Girls game, ensuring talented young players have more opportunities than ever to compete, develop and succeed.

Post qualification 32 players will attend the Super 16 finals Weekend and will play out a round robin format on day 1 with knockout rounds on day 2 to find the inaugural Girls Super 16 champion.

JDC CEO Darren Barson commented,

“ We are committed to all young players having further opportunities in darts, but I have to say, the growth of young girls in the academy system, the competitors in the Girls series and the Junior Power League this year, shows us there is serious talent out there and we need to boost the opportunities to showcase that. I also believe the rewards must keep coming for those children and parents that commit their attendance weekly within the academy system. I can’t wait for the Super 16 and the Girls Super 16 finals Weekend later this year”.

The Girls Super 16 Finals Weekend will be held at the home of the JDC at Hangar61 on the weekend of the 31st October and 1st November.

Further details will be available on the JDC website and also communicated to all within the academy system network.
