7 DIFFERENT WINNERS ON FINAL WEEKEND OF PHASE 2!
TYLER GARRETT AT THE DOUBLE AS PHASE TWO OF FOUNDATION TOUR WRAPS UP WITH SEVEN DIFFERENT WINNERS
Phase Two of the Foundation Tour concluded with seven different winners across the eight events and two locations, with Tyler Garrett in the South the only player to win two events.
In the North, Harley Lewis-Rowlands, Freddie Argyle, Ben Lundstrom and Jac Owen took the titles, with Jack Bellingham and Woody Wheeler joining Garrett in winning in the South.
After five weekends of Foundation Tour action, Lewis-Rowlands was the top player in the North, with Ryan Knight leading the way in the South.
The qualifiers for next year’s Advanced Tour are as follows: Zach Strong, Argyle, Lundstrom and Cowley (Lewis-Rowlands will be over-age) in the North, and Ryan Knight, Arjun Sharma, Garrett and Ryan Mitchell in the South.
NORTH
EVENT 17
Harley Lewis-Rowlands won his fourth event of the tour by beating Noah Wardle 5-3 in the Event 17 final.
Lewis-Rowlands raced into a 4-0 lead in the final, kicking off with a 109 checkout to break Wardle’s throw in the opening leg, before taking out 70 to hold and double his lead. In the blink of an eye he was 4-0 up, breaking and then taking out 118.
But Wardle hit back, holding throw to get himself on the scoreboard, before breaking throw and then holding again to cut the deficit to a single leg.
But Lewis-Rowlands produced his best leg of the match – a 15-darter with three ton-plus visits – to stave off any possibility of a stunning comeback and wrap up the title.
Lewis-Rowlands beat Harrison Doherty 4-2 in the semis, but his finest performance of the event came in his 3-0 win over Nathan Rolfe in the last 16, in which he averaged 85.08 and wrapped up the win with a 13-dart leg.
Wardle reached his second final on the tour after beating Event 16 winner Aaron Hustwaite 4-1 including a 129 checkout.
There were some eye-catching performances throughout the event, not least Harvey Thompson’s 94.95 average in his 3-1 win over Tom Kindon, which he wrapped up with a 12-darter.
RESULTS
Final:
Harley Lewis-Rowlands 5-3 Noah Wardle
Semi-finals:
Harley Lewis-Rowlands 4-2 Harrison Doherty
Noah Wardle 4-1 Aaron Hustwaite
EVENT 18
Freddie Argyle won his second event of the season, beating Zach Strong 5-2 in the Event 18 final.
The Welsh player was Mr Consistent throughout the event, his average not once dipping below 71, and he set the tone in the final by breaking Strong’s throw with an 85 checkout in the opening leg.
Argyle wrapped up the win with another break, secured with a 110 checkout, to ensure he was an event winner on back-to-back tour weekends.
He had to come through a last-leg decider against Chance Smith in the semi-finals to reach the final. Smith broke throw with an 86 checkout in the opening leg, only for Argyle to hit straight back. For the remainder of the contest, the match went with throw, Argyle clinching his spot on Double 5.
Strong also had to come through a last-leg decider to reach the final, beating Tilemachos Moysides 4-3 to deny him a first appearance in a final.
Strong opened with a 14-dart leg, but, when Moysides took out 109 to hold and make it 2-2 – and followed it immediately with a break of throw – he was in a spot of bother.
However, Strong – who had also come through last-leg deciders in the quarter-finals and last 16 – broke straight back and then took out 92 to clinch the win.
Moysides underlined his improvement by throwing back-to-back 90-plus averages earlier in the event, throwing three ton-plus finishes in his 3-0 win over Ryan Haldon-Powell.

Freddie Argyle (Wal) 5-2 Zach Strong
Semi-finals:

Lundstrom controlled the final from start to finish, opening with a routine hold and sealing the win with his best leg of the match – a 14-darter with an 89 checkout.
He had beaten Event 17 winner Harley Lewis-Rowlands 4-1 in the semi-finals, with Lewis-Rowlands taking out 155 for a 12-dart break in the third leg, before Lundstrom wrapped things up with a 119 checkout.
Arguably his best performance of the event, though, came in the quarter-finals when he beat Harvey Thompson 3-1 with an 86.43 average.
Rolfe’s run to the final was his second on the tour, having also been a runner-up on the previous weekend of action.
Although well beaten in the final, he impressed on his way there, beating Thomas Williams 4-1 in the semis with two breaks of throw and an 82 checkout thrown in.

Jac Owen ended Phase Two of the Foundation Tour on a high as he sealed his first event win with a 5-2 victory over Harvey Thompson in the final.
The Welsh player had previously reached two quarter-finals – but continued his upward trajectory with victory in Ellesmere Port.
Thompson won the opening leg by taking out 88, before Owen reeled off three in succession to take command, including a 90 checkout. Thompson hit back to cut Owen’s lead to a single leg – but a 16-darter put him within one leg, which he secured with a 72 checkout to break.
Owen beat Tilemachos Moysides – playing his second semi-final of the weekend – 4-2 to reach the final, breaking throw with an 80 checkout in the opening leg to set the tone.
Thompson reached the final – his first of the tour – with a 4-3 win over Harley Lewis-Rowlands, fighting back from 3-1 to clinch the win.

Bellingham had previously reached two finals and a semi-final but powered his way through to a first title by beating Knight in Bristol.
He lost the opening leg but won five on the spin to get over the line, having beaten Zach Langley 4-2 in the semis and Harrison Meggitt 3-2 in the quarters. Against Meggitt, Bellingham took out 101 to go 2-0 up, and after his opponent had drawn level, he sealed the win with a 15-darter.
Knight reached his fifth final of the tour with a 4-1 semi-final win over Will Fisher, but his most impressive performance of the event came in a 3-0 win over Louie Kildea, in which he averaged 95.94, including a 13-darter.

He had earlier beaten Harrison Meggitt 4-2 in the semi-finals, racing into a 3-0 lead which included a 12-darter (180, 125, 98, 98), before withstanding a Meggitt fightback to see out the win.
Mitchell came up just short of a fourth event win of the tour – but played some superb stuff along the way.
He beat Jack Powell 4-3 in the semi-finals, having averaged north of 82 in his three matches immediately before the last four. Although he averaged more against Jayden Moss in the last 32, his 84.34 in his 3-1 last-16 win over Ryan Knight stood out, with both players averaging 84-plus and Mitchell sealing the win with a 15-dart leg.

Meggitt threw the two biggest out-shots of the final (72 and 90) but Garrett got the job done, having produced two brilliant 90-plus averages earlier in the event.
His best performance of the event came in the semi-final when he beat Arjun Sharma 4-0 with a 92.49 average, which included a 13-dart leg.
He also averaged 92.40 in beating Mason Dower 3-1 in the last 16, sealing the win with a 13-darter.
