A record year for the Junior Darts Corporation will conclude on the Alexandra Palace stage on Saturday December 20 with the final of the Holiday Inn Express JDC Junior Darts World Championship.

England's Kaya Baysal and Scotland's Mitchell Lawrie will clash as they bid to succeed Belgian teenager Lex Paeshuyse to claim the coveted title and raise the Tommy Cox Trophy.

The early rounds of the Junior World Darts Championship took place on the Rock last week at the annual Festival of Junior Darts at the Europa Point Sports Complex.

Both players impressed in their runs to the final, with Lawrie winning his opening three games without dropping a leg - averaging 108.91 in his win over Alfie O'Brien in the Last 32.

Burnley's Baysal, meanwhile, posted a ton-topping average in his 5-2 quarter-final win over Ryan Branley, and dropped just two legs in his first four matches.

That event was followed by the JDC World Cup, which was retained by England, while the week in Gibraltar also saw victories for Ryan Branley and Bradley Van der Velden in the Luke Littler Legacy Open and Winmau Junior Darts Open of Gibraltar respectively.

The JDC circuit has enjoyed another huge year of growth, with over 200 Academies and over 5000 players now registered worldwide.

The JDC's circuit of competitive events was headlined by the Advanced Tour, which was won by Mongolia's Tergel Khurelkhuu, while Arthur Allston and Louis Jones took victories in the Foundation Tour's two phases.

Jack Johnson followed up his Super 16 triumph by winning the National Volts final in Leicester in October, while Lewis Cook was the winner of the European Open and 2025 Super 16.

Paige Pauling continued her progress with wins in the Girls Series and Girls Championship.

The 2026 JDC season will commence with the Winmau Junior World Masters, which will culminate with the final on stage in Milton Keynes on February 1 during the Winmau World Masters.

What a year!
