This week sees the official launch of JDC Germany under the stewardship of Hannover 96 darts academy director Andreas Rollwage. The relationship will provide Germany with a solid base on which to build the platform of junior darts across the whole of Germany with the support and guidance from the JDC and Andreas and his team.
JDC Germany will be headed up by Andreas who has, and will continue to work closely with the JDC on the growth of the junior game over the coming years. Andreas and his team have plans to professionalise academies around Germany and create the same opportunities for the young players as seen in other nations.
JDC Germany has big plans in place for future academy openings in many cities around Germany. Bremen. Hamburg, Berlin, Karlsruhe and Kassel are in the pipeline for new openings.
The growth of the academy system will provide more children with the opportunity to take up the sport of darts which is hugely popular in the nation.
JDC Germany will also replicate the other parts of academy life with Accreditation Days, Coaching programmes, bespoke Greenzone tournaments and JDC Tournaments across Germany. JDC Germany will also have the opportunity to provide the JDC with Team Germany for the Junior World Cup in 2021.
With the backing of JDC partner Winmau, who will also be assisting the new academies with their products and the bespoke JDC GREENZONE board, Andreas is hugely optimistic.
“ I have been looking at this now for many months and talking to the JDC and my contacts in Germany many times. I am very excited and proud to finally announce JDC Germany and I will do my best to make JDC popular in Germany. We have many plans and we are very excited for the future “ Andreas commented.
JDC Director of Operations Darren Barson said,
This is fantastic news for junior darts players in Germany. I can see the ambition and commitment Andreas has and I am really looking forward to working with JDC Germany. We only need to see what this kind of relationship can do for the children if we just take a look at JDC Ireland or JDC China for example over the last couple of years.
