Fanatastic news for children attending darts academies affiliated to the JDC as the corporation opens its academy network for the first time since March.
The JDC will resume its affiliation with over 30 academies world wide from Monday September 7th 2020.
The resumption of academy business is a huge positive step for the junior game and great news for those wishing to focus back on achievements in junior darts. The JDC provides many benefits to the academy network and with its bespoke grading software allowing youngsters the ability to progress and be recognised for their efforts, this is a massive step back to academy life for the JDC and its academies.
A great number of the affiliated academies are now planning a return and some are already up and running in the last week or so. Just prior to lockdown the JDC had plans to affiliate to many more academies that will look to open later this year which included academies in England, Wales, Ireland and the far east.
Darren Barson Director of Operations for the JDC commented,
" Absolutely delighted to say this is the first stage of the return to academy business. Further down the line we will introduce new academies to the JDC when we can and plan our accredition events for further interest. The final stage will be to look at qualification routes through the academy system for JDC major events, but this may be a job for early 2020. In the meantime we must praise the efforts of all the academy managers and volunteers for getting the sessions back on in their local areas".
