This week we visited Tewkesbury Junior Darts Academy and joined in on the Wednesday night session.
Tewkesbury Junior Darts Academy affiliated to the JDC in April this year and we took the opportunity to visit them this week ahead of February's Greenzone Competition at the Dd's Snooker club in Tewkesbury town center.
The Academy has come along nicely since it opened its doors in the spring of this year. The Academy director Clive Burgess now runs a Wednesday PM and a Saturday AM session to accomodate the young darting enthusiasts.
The venue has put aside a whole area for the children to master the sport with some great facilities. 3 permanant Oche's and 2 practice boards provide ample space for the children and parents to settle in to an academy session on a cold Wednesday night in December. The students went through the JDC routines, practice games and a fun game of killer. JDC Director of Operations Darren Barson who joined in a Greenzone Competition commented,
" Lovely facilities and a warm welcome from the children and parents. Lots of young faces at this academy and great to see the encouragement of Clive and the parents throughout the evening. This will be a great venue to start the 2020 Greenzone tour on Saturday February 29th".
