Ahead of the 2019 JDC tour, players are getting ready for more great opportunities on the JDC circuit this year. One player in particular who dominated the JDC tour in 2018 and became the Scott Farms International European Open Champion is looking to really push on in 2019.

Brad Phillips from Hertfordshire dominated the JDC tour last year by staying firmly at the summit of the tour’s order of merit and scooping three titles out of the 8 events. Wins in Dorchester, Worcester and Essex would assure Phillips top spot in the order of merit and granting him a place in the World Finals. In addition a place in the 4 player squad to represent England in the JDC’s World Cup event was also acheived.

The 15 year old JDC tour regular has not always had it his own way, and a lesson to all youngsters to persevere in pursuit of success.

In 2016 Phillips couldn’t get passed the second round in that year and in 2017 progressed to 2 semi-finals but was edged out by a very successful Jarred Cole.

However in 2018 Phillips topped off his 3 title wins by becoming the JDC’S European Open Champion in December. A packed field of incredibly talented players including current Junior World Darts Champion Jurjen van der Velde, could not stop Phillips taking a major title.

This year the Tour goes to 10 events over 5 Saturdays hosting 2 events in one day. Similar to the next level for these youngsters, the PDC’s Development Tour, players get 2 chances at each event in 2019. The first of these will be held this Saturday at Rileys Wolverhampton and you can be sure Brad Phillips will be honing in on scooping up more titles, prize money and making a huge statement in 2019.
