The 2018 WDS Junior World Darts Champion is dutch ace Jurjen van der Velde.
Jurjen van der Velde overcame English youngster Lennon Cradock in a tense final at the Alexandra Palace London.
17 year old Cradock started well after the initial exchanges and showed no signs of nerves on the big stage. Van der Velde took a little longer to find his range but when he did it counted. The first leg went to the English youngster but soon they were level as the Dutch ace hit back and continued to score better to take a 2-1 lead. Cradock levelled at 2-2 but again van der Velde hit back with a 180 and finished the leg to go 3-2 up in the best of 7 match.
A nervy last leg that would see van der Velde take out double 2 to win the match 4-2.
Both players averaged over 80 and seemed to be comfortable on the big stage by the end of the game.
van der Velde commented,
" It felt good up there, for me the point I hit the 180 and Lennon started that leg with 57, I knew I could win and take a 3-2 lead. I am so happy with this and this is the best"
