The JDC's academy structure will offer 2 opportunites to qualify for huge stage presence in 2019 by increasing the academy calendar next year.
With the introduction of the Super 16 Tour in 2019 the opportunity for academy students to qualify for another finals day has been confirmed.
In 2019 there will be 2 academy order of merit tables.
1. JDC Academy seasons 1-3 running from January - June will be the qualifying order of merit table for 8 players to reach the Junior World Darts Championship finals.
2. JDC Academy seasons 4-6 running from June - December will be the qualifying order of merit table for 8 players to join the Super 16 finalists. 4 winners and the top 4 from the Super16 tour order of merit will complete the 16 players.
JDC Chairman Steve Brown commented,
" I am really excited about the introduction of the Super16 tour as it gives another chance for the kids to go for something within their local academies. Alexandra Palace and now the Masters in Milton Keynes are 2 premium venues that the kids will love. Not everyone has the opportunity or funds to play our tours and travel around the country. So this now gives the local kids 2 chances to make a finals day and ultimately a huge day out within the JDC academy system. I am so looking forward to 2019. With more academies affiliating to the JDC, we should see more and more talent progressing on the tours next year".
The dates for the 2019 Super 16 tour can be found under the JDC tour section on this site. Venues to be announced.
