The Junior Darts Corporation in partnership with the International Darts Corporation have set out a long term project to begin the growth of the sport at a junior level across Asia. Beginning in China the JDC and IDC will lay out the foundations to create a junior structure for darts to encompass academies, education, tournaments and a centre of excellence near Shanghai.
The partnership will also provide an opportunity for young Chinese players to compete in a qualifying event for the Junior World Darts Championship and Junior World Cup of Darts 2018 event held here in the UK in December.
JDC Chairman Steve Brown commented :
“we are hugely delighted to be working with IDC Darts in Asia in constructing a meaningful, educational and structured opportunity for the children in the far east. Its a long term project that my team and IDC Director Joe Mei will be working on to facilitate this huge growth area for junior darts. With the World Series and the Asia tour, the game is growing here and we will be part of the foundations at junior level. We are also privileged to have world renowned player and legend of our sport Paul Lim in our camp as we move into this new continent for us”.
