The Junior Darts Corporation began its season of competition last weekend with a stunning turn out of junior talent in Dorchester for the 1st Modus UK Tour Event of 2017. The event held at the George Albert Hotel in Evershot was attended by junior talent from around the UK and gave the event its first qualifier for the WDA Associates World Junior Darts Championship playoffs in December.
James Beeton still only 13 years old from Chester ran out the winner after a very competitive final. Beeton who was up against last years grand finals participant Jarred cole got off to a great start in the final moving 2-0 ahead. Cole levelled 2-2 with 140's and a maximum to get close to Beeton. The match went leg for leg and at 4-3 in a best of nine final it looked like Beeton would ease through. However Cole pushed on for a final leg levelling at 4-4 but was denied the win by a stunning last leg by Beeton. James also becomes a JDC ALLSTAR by his win and grabbed the first prize of £150 for his victory. JDC Ambassador and World number 16 Simon Whitlock commented " its been a pleasure to warm up with these guy's and offer some support and encouragement. I remember when I was a kid I really valued the advice of senior players and I have never forgotten those early days in my career. The talent on show here was exceptional and I am glad to be apart of it" The Junior Darts Corporation moves on to Derby on April 2nd for the next tournament in the series. > You can also follow the JDC on twitter @JDCdarts for news and updates on all things JDC
